(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Cheol-seon Kim = SK Group's industrial artificial intelligence (AI) company, Gauss Labs, announced on the 3rd that it had signed a business agreement with Seoul National University's New Media and Communication Research Institute on the 3rd to strengthen AI research capabilities and foster outstanding talent.

The signing ceremony was held at Seoul National University in the presence of Professor Jung-woo Lee, head of the Joint Research Center for New Media and Communication at Seoul National University, and Young-han Kim, CEO of Gauss Labs.

Through this agreement, the two sides agreed to promote human resource exchange, promote joint research, share research infrastructure and research results, and cooperate to foster outstanding talent.

Gauss Labs, headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA, was launched last year based on the capital invested by SK Hynix [000660].

SK hynix is ​​developing solutions that can increase production efficiency by using data generated at the manufacturing site, and plans to grow into an industrial AI specialized company that can lead innovation in manufacturing sites by expanding business areas in the future.

Professor Lee Jung-woo, head of the Joint Research Center for New Media and Communication at Seoul National University, said, "I expect that students will be able to increase their competencies by gaining experience in actual industrial fields through exchanges with Gauss Labs, which aims to become a world-class industrial AI company."
